(12:05 PM) Accidental Drowning Cited After Body Found In River
The body of a man who fell into the Chadakoin River was recovered by first responders early Monday.
Jamestown police said 61-year-old Robert B. Cavender reportedly fell into the water at some point overnight and drowned. His body was found Monday around 6:30 a.m. in the water near Victoria Avenue and Institute Street.
Cavender’s body was recovered by Jamestown firefighters and taken to the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo for an autopsy.
“The investigation has revealed that the death was accidental, and no criminal activity is involved,” Jamestown police said in a press release.
