Five people have been displaced after a fire broke out at their Jamestown residence early Monday.

Jamestown firefighters were called to the 202 McKinley Ave. property, at Sampson Street, around 4 a.m. Crews remained on scene for several hours.

Roger Sigular, Jamestown fire battalion chief, said five people lived in two of the apartments. However, he said no one was at home when the blaze broke out.

Fire investigators were called to determine the cause of the fire.

The property is likely to be demolished.

The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities said water on the south side of the city could be discolored due to the fire for 12 to 24 hours.
