(9:34 AM) Sheriff’s Deputies Identify Man Killed In Cherry Creek Accident Sunday

CHERRY CREEK – A motorcyclist has been killed in a two-vehicle accident at 6:44 p.m. on Farrington Hollow Road in Cherry Creek.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies report Jassen Sherman, 47, of Falconer, allegedly failed to yield the right of way when backing out of a driveway, causing his vehicle to be struck by a motorcycle travelling north on Farrington Hollow Road. Paul W. Diaz, 50, of Cherry Creek and the rider of the motorcycle, was taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Sherman was cited for Failure to yield the right of way when entering the roadway and will be in Cherry Creek Town Court later.

The Cherry Creek Fire Department, Cassadaga Fire Department, Alstar Ambulance and Starflight responded to the accident.
