(2:47 PM) City Man Charged After Domestic Incident This Morning
Russell H. Rea, 53, of Jamestown faces charges after police responded to 401 W. Fourth St., Jamestown, for a reported physical domestic incident involving a knife at 9 a.m. today.
Officers report arriving at the scene to find a man and a woman in the doorway of an apartment. It was reported the woman was being held in the apartment by Rea, who had a knife. The knife was reportedly found in the apartment and it was verified that there was a valid stay away order between Rea and the woman.
Rea was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, second-degree strangulation, third-degree assault, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal mischief. Rea was taken to the Jamestown City Jail until he could be arraigned. The woman was treated at UPMC Chautauqua for minor injuries.
