LAKEWOOD — The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man who went missing on Chautauqua Lake.

Deputies said 47-year-old Timothy D. Yocum was on the lake Saturday when they believe he may have attempted to go for swim around 5:30 p.m. Yocum has not been seen since.

Several agencies — including the county Water Emergency Team and local first responders — have scoured the lake for about two days.

The Sheriff’s Office said the search would continue Sunday evening and Monday if necessary.

Currently assisting in search efforts are firefighters from Lakewood, Celoron, Bemus Point, Dewittville, Ashville and Glade Township in Pennsylvania. Chautauqua County Emergency Services and Starflight also are helping.
