9 PM: Narcan Administered To Unresponsive Mayville Pair
MAYVILLE — Two Mayville residents were administered naloxone after they were found unresponsive.
Deputies with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office were summoned to a Mayville home around 7 p.m. Tuesday for an overdose. Once inside, deputies found a 26-year-old male and 23-year-old female unresponsive.
The pair was administered naloxone — commonly known by its trade name Narcan — to reverse the effects of a drug overdose. The Sheriff’s Office said both became responsive after the drug was given.
The male and female, neither of whom were identified in a press release late Tuesday, were transported to Westfield Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted Tuesday by Mayville and Chautauqua firefighters.
