11:22 A.M.: Two Charged After Drug Bust In South Dayton
SOUTH DAYTON – Two South Dayton residents face charges after their home was searched Tuesday by agents of the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force’s Olean office.
Laurie Newcomb, 41, and Jeremy Steves, 38, both of 408 Pine St., South Dayton, were charged with one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, a class D felony, and criminally using drug paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor. More charges are pending, according to a news release, with more arrests possible.
According to a police report, agents found multiple packaged bags of crystal methamphetamine, Alprozolam pills and three ounces of marijuana packaged for sale. Newcomb and Steves were arraigned in Dayton Town Court and taken to the Cattaraugus County Jail on $1,000 cash bail.
The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force’s Olean office is comprised of members of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, Salamanca, Gowanda and Franklinville police departments and the New York State Police.
