9:15 AM: Annual ‘Hands On Jamestown’ Beautifies City
Dozens of area volunteers — including kids with brooms, rakes and garbage bags — took part in “Hands On James,” a community-wide effort to clean and beautify the city organized by the Jamestown Renaissance Corporation.
The volunteers, many sponsored by local businesses and organizations, assist the city parks department with flower planting, litter collection and sweeping.
“Hans on Jamestown has been a great success in the past, and we are excited to run this great event again,” said Zach Agett, marketing and events manager for the Jamestown Renaissance Corporation.
Many kids helped take part in Saturday’s cleanup and beautification effort. Among those that helped were kids from the Southern Tier Storm Soccer Academy in Jamestown.
