Man Charged After Fleeing Police

A Jamestown man is facing a host of charges after fleeing police on a motorcycle late Saturday.

Victor J. Cameron, 44, was taken into custody following the pursuit, which began around 10 p.m. when officers of the Jamestown Police Department observed a motorcycle traveling westbound on Falconer Street without tail lights.

“Upon attempting to conduct a traffic stop, the motorcycle fled from officers,” Jamestown police said in a press release.

The motorcycle, operated by Cameron, was pursued through Jamestown, Busti and Ellicott before returning to the city. Cameron reportedly got off the motorcycle on Euclid Avenue, where he ran from officers.

The city man was eventually taken into custody, where he was determined to be intoxicated.

Cameron was charged with driving while intoxicated, third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer on a motorcycle, aggravated first-degree unlicensed operation and several vehicle and traffic violations. He was held in Jamestown City Jail to be arraigned.

Jamestown police were assisted by members of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and the Lakewood-Busti Police Department.
