Safety Village To Celebrate ShamROCK N’ Roll Event
MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua Children’s Safety Education Village is gearing up to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on Saturday, March 16, with a community wide St. Patrick’s Day Party at Chautauqua Suites, 215 W. Lake Road, Mayville.
This ShamROCK N’ Roll celebration will feature the classic rock band Reset To Vinyl, dinner, dancing, drink specials and more. Tickets are $50 per person and includes dinner and entertainment. Festivities will kick off with appetizers at 6 p.m. and dinner will include a huge a selection of food stations to include a taco bar, slider bar, potato bar, salad bar, burger bar and pasta bar. Green desserts will be features as well as an after hours pizza party at Bellini’s. Everyone is encouraged to don their green apparel and strike a pose at the photo booth.
In addition to all of this year’s festivities, the event will be a celebration of Joe Gerace, who with the help of the Sertoma Club, worked for 13 years to make the Children’s Safety Village a reality for our community. All proceeds from the celebration will go toward the important safety education programs the Children’s Safety Village provides.

The Chautauqua Children’s Safety Education Village is nonprofit organization which was formed in 1996. Classes are held in the DFT Communications Educational Facility and is surrounded by a child-sized village, complete with a business district, paved roads, a railroad station, street signs, sidewalks and more. The Safety Village educates children, primarily in the areas of Traffic, Bike and Fire Safety.
The nonprofit’s goal is to decrease the number of unnecessary injuries and unfortunate fatalities of children in the community by allowing children to experience hands-on safety training. The Safety Village also offers training and certification in First Aid, CPR and AED through the American Heart Association and a Babysitting Course, which includes a certification in First Aid, CPR and AED.
