Reg Lenna To Show Ginsburg Biopic

Felicity Jones stars as Ruth Bader Ginsburg in Mimi Leder's ON THE BASIS OF SEX, a Focus Features release.

The Reg Lenna Center for The Arts will show the Ruth Bader Ginsburg biopic “On the Basis of Sex” on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Best Actor nominee Christian Bale stars as Dick Cheney in Best Picture nominee “Vice” on Saturday, March 2, at 8 p.m. Admission is $5 to each screening.

In “On the Basis of Sex”, Ruth Bader Ginsburg is a struggling attorney and new mother who faces adversity and numerous obstacles in her fight for equal rights. When Ginsburg takes on a groundbreaking tax case with her husband, attorney Martin Ginsburg, she knows it could change the direction of her career and the way the courts view gender discrimination. The film stars Oscar nominee Felicity Jones (“The Theory of Everything”) and Golden Globe nominee Armie Hammer (“Call Me By Your Name”. “On the Basis of Sex” is rated PG-13 and is 120 minutes long.

In “Vice” Governor George W. Bush of Texas picks Dick Cheney, the CEO of Halliburton Co., to be his Republican running mate in the 2000 presidential election. No stranger to politics, Cheney’s impressive resume includes stints as White House chief of staff, House Minority Whip and defense secretary. When Bush wins by a narrow margin, Cheney begins to use his newfound power to help reshape the country and the world. The film is nominated for 10 Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director (Adam Mckay, “The Big Short.”)

Christian Bale (Dick Cheney) is nominated for Best Actor. His co-stars Sam Rockwell (Oscar winner for “Three Billboards”) and Amy Adams (“Arrival”) are nominated in their respective supporting performance categories. “Vice” is rated R and is 132 minutes long.

Upcoming Movies at The Reg include director Jonah Hill’s coming of age skateboard culture drama “Mid90s” on Wednesday, March 6, at 7 p.m., the adventure “A Dog’s Way Home” on Saturday, March 9, at 4 p.m., Alfonso Cuaron’s Spanish-language Best Picture nominee “Roma” on Wednesday, March 13, at 7 p.m. and Best Actress nominee Glenn Close as “The Wife” on Wednesday, March 20, at 7 p.m.
