Ross Grange Gives Donation To Salvation Army

Ross Grange met Jan. 14 with Robert Goodwin presiding. An application for membership was received from Jacqueline M. Rettzer.

A letter of thanks was received from the Erie, Pa., Veteran’s Hospital for Vetrans cards sent to them. Also from the Salvation Army Red Kettle Fund for the $100 donation.

A picture of treasurer, Mary Jane Griffith presenting a check to Keith Martin for the “Fill the Truck” campaign for the Saint Susan Soup Kitchen, was shared. It was announced that Dennis Webster, WJTN announcer, was honored at the Ag Society meeting in Albany for his agricultural writings. He has been a “Friend of the Farmer” in this area for many years.

Mrs. Griffith gave the treasurer’s report. A memorial will be sent to the state Grange Museum for deceased members Gordon Carlberg, Ruth Newton, Jeanette Olson, John Cheney and Norman Sprague.

Lecturer Betty Wakefield presented a program on “Remembering.” She also was hostess for refreshments following the meeting.

The next meeting will be Monday, Jan. 28, at 1 p.m. at the Falcon’s Nest Banquet Hall. Refreshments will be served.
