CRCF Grant Helps Kennedy Church

On Christmas Day, members of the Kennedy First United Methodist Church opened the church to people in the surrounding area and invited them to Christmas dinner. Anyone who was alone and wanted to share the day with other people were welcome to attend. The idea was born in 2009 when one of the members of the church found that she would be alone that year for Christmas. Pastor Jennifer Delahoy and other members of the church prepared and served 50 meals and spent some time socializing with guests. This year the church received a grant from the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation through the Karl Peterson Field of Interest Fund to purchase new heavy duty padded folding chairs. The chairs were purchased locally from Geer-Dunn Company Inc. and were delivered just in time for the dinner. Plans are being made to host the dinner next year.
