Bemus Point Celebrates Summer Reading Program

Thirty-eight Bemus Point Elementary students celebrated their summer reading achievement by dumping ice-cold water onto Elementary Principal Sonja DuBois. Students were challenged to read a minimum of 30 minutes a day for a period of 30 days over the summer. “My boys were so motivated over the summer to read,” said Mary Osgood, parent of elementary students Noah and Aiden Osgood. “I did not need to prompt them at all. They knew that if they met their challenge they would get to dump water on Mrs. DuBois so we finished the challenge very quickly.” DuBois returned to school recently after a 6-week maternity leave and students who completed the reading challenge were treated to their promised award.
