United Way Kicks Off 2019 Campaign Thursday
The United Way of Southern Chautauqua County will host its 2019 campaign kickoff and an open house in its new office from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday at 208 Pine St., Jamestown.
“It just seems fitting to welcome the community to our new offices along with kicking off our 2018 United Way campaign,” said Amy Rohler, United Way of Southern Chautauqua County executive director. “We’re incredibly grateful for the community and business support we received to renovate this space.”
Hopes Windows, D&S Glass, Ahlstrom-Schaeffer Electric, Lewis & Lewis, PC, Allied Alarm, and E.E. Austin, along with the Ralph C. Sheldon Foundation, the Lenna Foundation and the Jessie Smith Darah Fund, made donations to help complete the project.
The message for the campaign is “United We Fight. United We Win.”
“When our community cares enough to come together, we do win and the collaboration with our community partners, local businesses and volunteers are a true reflection of this statement,” said Cynde Johnson, United Way of Southern Chautauqua County resource development and marketing coordinator.
Johnson said all donations stay locally within southern Chautauqua County.
The campaign video will be shown at the event, and showcases the impact of United Way in the community.
United Way of Southern Chautauqua County seeks to raise more than $1.3 million to invest in 39 programs that align with four priorities: ensuring that families are self-sufficient, everyone is ready to work, young people succeed in school, and those in need can find help. A collective effort by a strong team of dedicated volunteers, staff and community leaders will ban together and fight to reach this goal.
