Glasier Family Reunion Held

STOCKTON — The 93rd annual Glasier family reunion was held recently at the Stockton Firemen’s Grounds.

It was opened with a prayer by Pastor Cliff Cliver before a tureen luncheon. There were 43 individuals attending. President Jason Trippi presided over the meeting. Sandy Cliver, secretary/treasurer, passed around the secretary and treasurer’s reporters, address sheet for additions and corrections and a sign-in sheet.

Since last year’s reunion, the following death occurred — Ethel Cebulski in October 2017 at the age of 95. The information was sent in a card from Tom and Jim Cebulski. A moment of silence was held for her.

There were no births reported. Marriages were Jim and Linda Cliver on June 6, 2018. Their parents are Rick and Lora Cliver, Dennis McKane, and grandparents are Cliff and Sandy Cliver and Megan McKane and Caleb Gibbs.

The following prizes were given:

¯ Oldest male at the reunion — Ken Wise;

¯ Oldest female at the reunion — Marie Mekus;

¯ Person who traveled the farthest — Tim Dailey from New Jersey;

¯ Youngest person at the reunion — Orlo Kelso, 5;

¯ Persons attending the reunion for the first time — Orlo Kelso and Linda Cliver;

¯ Person who took the farthest trip since the last reunion — Alisia Glasier, who traveled to Italy;

¯ Family that had the most children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren present — Dick and Pat Glasier, 10 present.

Tim Dailey was able to guess that Jamestown was the biggest city in Chautauqua County. Betty Glasier was able to guess that Mike Pence is vice president of the United States. Cody Elliot was able to guess that Cuba is a communist country directly to the south of the United States. Jim Cliver knew what a numismatist is. Kevin Wise had the oldest coin, from 1961, with him; and Shawn and Cynthia McKane had remodeled their home the most recently.

Kevin and Betty Jo Glasier brought cold drinks and pop, Kevin Wise brought coffee and Jason and Kathy Trippe brought hot dogs and children’s games. Jason Trippe was the auctioneer for the white elephant sale. A hat was passed to help pay for costs of the reunion.

Next year’s reunion will be held in the big building at the Stockton Fireman’s Grounds. Jason Trippe will continue as president with Steve Glasier as vice president and Sandy Cliver continuing as secretary and treasurer.
