Coach’s Corner Sets Benefit Sept. 30

Coach’s Corner will host its fifth annual Benefit for Youth Sports, a two-part event on Sept. 30.

A four-person scramble golf tournament will begin at 9 a.m. at Breezewood Links in Falconer. The cost is $300 for a team to register or $75 a person with light breakfast and lunch provided for all golfers, as well as opportunities to win prizes throughout the day. The cost also includes admission to the benefit afterward.

The second part of the event is a benefit being held at the Morton Club on Pratt Avenue, Jamestown from 3 to 8 p.m. The benefit includes a pig roast dinner, 50/50 giveaways every hour, giveaways, a Chinese auction and live music provided by The Short Bus. Admission is $15 per person with children ages 5 and under admitted free. One of the giveaways is a “Barrel of Booze” which is more than 25 bottles of liquor, including 15 premium bottles; tickets are $5 each.

With the exception of 50-50 giveaways, winners do not need to be present to win. Tickets are available presale in person at Coach’s Corner Inn.

Those interested can reach out to the benefit’s Facebook Event page to purchase tickets or make a donation.

All proceeds benefit local area youth sports. In the past four years Coach’s Corner Inn has raised and donated more than $6,000 to local area youth sports programs including Jamestown Youth Wrestling, Southern Tier Wrestling Club, Jamestown Area Midget Football League, and Southern Tier Babe Ruth Baseball.

This year’s major recipient is the Jim McCusker Flag Football League.
