Car Show To Be Held At Peek ’n Peak

CLYMER — The 21st annual Greg Neid Memorial Car Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at Peek’n Peak, presented by the Southern Tier Classic Chevy Club.

More than 1,000 vehicles are expected to attend. The show benefits the Shriners Hospital for Children in Erie and is held regardless of weather. It is open to all makes, models and years of antique, classic and special interest vehicles.

Originally held in the south end of Olde Road beneath the ski slopes, the show is now on the lower golf course across from the main lodge and can accommodate cars with a designated area for car trailers.

Dennis Gage from “My Classic Car” will take part in the event while filming for a future program.

Car clubs planning to participate are asked to reply by Sept. 30 so the committee can designated areas. The number of each club’s cars is needed as well as estimated time of arrival. Reservations can be made by calling Mike Wallen at 499-1829, Ken Newton at 499-9801 or Joe Siparek at 763-6963.

The Southern Tier Classic Chevy Club began in 1991 with members from the Jamestown area and later chartered with Classic Chevy International. Since its beginning the club has held between two and four events each year. This year the group hosted a car show at the Celoron RibFest to benefit Meals on Wheels, a “Cruise Around The Lake” in July and the upcoming October show.
