Bemus Point Alumni Meet

FLUVANNA — The Bemus Point 50+ Alumni Association held its annual buffet meal and get-together recently at the Fluvanna Fire Hall for alumni who have been out of school for 50 years or more.

The group had 42 members in attendance, including alumni, spouses and other friends. Bernice Johnson Swanson was the oldest alumni from the Class of 1941.

Recipients of the Charles and Irene Hallberg Scholarships were presented their checks. Amber Lobb and Neil Schauman from the Maple Grove High School Class of 2018 were awarded scholarships.

A brief meeting followed the meal, which was catered by Debbie Stearns of Classic Occasions. Richard Shaver gave a memorial tribute to 36 alumni and five employees of the Bemus Point Central School District who passed away over the previous years.

The next get-together will be held the third Saturday of July 2019.
