Mayville Senior Citizens Meeting Held
A lovely luncheon of assorted dishes was enjoyed by 41 Senior Citizens on June 7 at the Mayville VFW. Before the meeting began, a representative of Office for the Aging explained about the Aging Mastery Program to be held Wednesdays, Aug 29. thru Sept. 26 1-3 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Mayville. The program is free but space is limited and pre-registration is required. To register call NY Connects 716 753-4582.
Then Dianne Goodrich told two funny stories and a poem called A Day to Praise. Bonnie led the Pledge of Allegiance. The Secretary and Treasurer reports were read. Jeff Wagner, Sr. Council Rep reminded everyone that the Picnic is scheduled Aug. 10 at Midway and tickets will be available for $8 at our next meeting. Also the dinner social is scheduled Aug. 22 at the Ashville Firehall at a cost of $13 each. Mary Carlson, Goodwill Chairperson, listed June birthdays, anniversaries and cards sent. Janet Loomis, Trip Coordinator, advised that the trip to the Fulton Canalway on July 10 is now full. The next trip after that is Sept. 11 to Letchworth State Park.

The kitchen committee composed of Louise Richir, Nancy Cole, Joyce Ayers and Dolly Gilbert was thanked. Prizes were won by Helen Davis, Linda Taylor, Edna Brown, Jerry White, Sandy Derbish, Ernestine Cruzado, Sandy Wagner, Ernest Farvor, Kathy Sukalac, Joann Westpfahl and Jeff Wagner.
Our next meeting is scheduled Thursday, June 21 at noon at the Mayville VFW. Our special guest singer for this meeting will be Bill Ward from Mayville. You don’t want to miss his style of singing some of your old and new favorite songs. Bill has been a friend to Mayville Senior Citizens for many years, so let?s all attend and show him our support.
