The Jamestown Christian and Missionary Alliance Church has received a grant from the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation Karl Peterson Fund to repair the church tower roof and windows.

Over time, the condition of the windows in the church tower had deteriorated due to exposure to the elements. The frames were in need of repair and allowed rain to enter the tower and damage the building’s interior ceiling. With the grant monies supplies were purchased and a contractor was hired to fix the window frames and glass and the tower roof.

The project enabled the church to maintain the tower windows, which add aesthetic value to the church building. The amber colored windows of the tower add a pleasing touch to the line of buildings and trees along West Third Street. Church members were gratified to have this preservation work completed.

The church facilities team also expressed satisfaction that the repair fixed the interior ceiling leakage.

The Jamestown Christian and Missionary Alliance Church is located on the corner of West Third Street and Lakin Avenue. Sunday morning worship services are at 10:30 a.m. More information is available at jamestowncmachurch.org
