Chamber Welcomes New Members

The Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce has just concluded its most successful spring membership drive ever with the addition of 46 new members. The businesses that have joined the Chamber in the past couple of months cross all sectors of the economy in all geographic locations from Celoron to Silver Creek and Clymer to Dunkirk. These businesses employ 155 people throughout the county.

While businesses can join the Chamber at any time, the spring membership drive puts a focus on our local businesses. During the drive board and team members visited with well over 150 businesses including members and non-members encouraging them to take advantage of the value of membership. The discussions and feedback from businesses is very helpful to aligning the Chambers programs and services to the needs of the membership.

During the membership drive the Chamber offered several incentive prizes for joining. The winners of those prizes were: Stedman Cafe of Mayville and Tammy’s Nails & Tails of Lakewood, which each won a $25 gift certificate from Webb’s Captain’s Table; Panama Diner in Panama which won a $50 Shoptauqua Gift Card; Rookies on the Lake in Dunkirk which won a one night stay at Chautauqua Suites in Mayville; Haff Acres Farms in Mayville which won a second year Chamber membership free; and Little Bugs Pest Control of Warren which won a Stay and Golf Getaway package at Peek’n Peak Resort. Congratulations to all of the winners and sincere thanks to the businesses that donated prizes.

Other new Chamber members are: Craft Cottage of Chautauqua in Ashville; Local’s Chatterbox and Nordstrom Williams both in Bemus Point; Chautauqua Harbor Hotel, Celoron; Genesis PPG of Clarence; Finish Line Gutter Services and Mike’s Performance Machine in Clymer; Kettle & Keg Restaurant, LS Engineering D.P.C, Northern Chautauqua Catholic School, and Ramon Sood Physician all in Dunkirk; in Fredonia — A Spot and A Spell, Aloe Vera’s Eatery, Bella Appraisal Service, Big Melch’s Smokin BBQ, Campus & Community Children’s Center, Darwin’s Health Club, Madenford Spring & Auto, R & D Fisk Precision Collision, and Southern Tier Promotions; from Jamestown — 2nd Chances Thrift Store, Balancing The Books Bookkeeping Services LLC, Chautauqua County Humane Society, Click Photo Studios, Great Lakes Medicare Solutions, Northwestern Mutual Financial, and SPLAT!LLC; Fairmount House, Group Ther-Happy, and Office Max all in Lakewood; Farm Credit East, Mayville Service Center, and Price Abstract Company in Mayville; Sprague Vineyards in Silver Creek; Hogan’s Hut in Stow; Cakes by Brandy, Mathews Jewelers, Quagliana’s Bark Grill, and Westfield Auto Body all in Westfield; and 1st Priority Mortgage, Inc. in Williamsville.

We encourage everyone to shop locally and work with local contractors, vendors, suppliers, and service providers as often as possible. We especially encourage Chamber members to work with other Chamber member businesses. Check our online Business Directory to find Chamber member businesses near you.

Sincere thanks to all who participated in this membership drive: staff, board members, volunteers, and the businesses who make it a pleasure to live, work and play in this community. We also extend thanks to the Chautauqua County Visitors Bureau and the National Comedy Center. As a wrap-up to our membership drive, we were very pleased to collaborate on a Business After Hours networking event held in conjunction with the Visitors Bureau Annual Meeting at the National Comedy Center. The evening highlighted our newest attraction, brought together a wide variety of business people from all over Chautauqua County, and was an exceptional event. We are fortunate to have a plethora of opportunity in our county and a number of outstanding people from a variety of organizations that make working here a fun and special experience.

ENJOY FIRST FRIDAYS AND FISH IN WESTFIELD

The Westfield-Barcelona Community Chamber of Commerce will hold its next First Friday event on July 6 on Main Street. These street fair style events feature live music, kids games, wine, food, vendors, and much more, and are held from 5-8 p.m. on the first Friday of each month during the summer, through September.

This year there is something new to enjoy! The Westfield-Barcelona Community Chamber of Commerce developed the Westfield Fish initiative to celebrate the Westfield-Barcelona fishing industry and demonstrate community involvement. More than 80 businesses and individuals purchased and decorated large fish plaques and they are on display through the summer in the village and the hamlet of Barcelona.
