Catt.Co. To Auction Nearly 200 Tax-Foreclosed Properties

A home on Main Street in Machias and the New Albion Church are just a few of the properties headed to the auction block Thursday.

CATTARAUGUS — The Cattaraugus County Office of Real Property Tax Services will hold a public auction of tax-foreclosed property at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16 at the Campus of Cattaraugus Little Valley School at 25 North Franklin St., Cattaraugus. Registration begins at 8 a.m.

Close to 175 parcels located across Cattaraugus County will be up for auction. Among them: single and multi-family homes, commercial and seasonal property, vacant lots, mobile homes and a small community church.

Tax-defaulted property auctions help the county recoup lost tax revenues needed for public services and return property to a revenue generating status. Proceeds from the auction will go to the Cattaraugus General Fund to offset the back taxes that were not collected

In addition, the company conducting the auction, Auctions International, will host a Pre- Auction Bidders meeting, Thursday, June 7 at 6 p.m.

Participants interested can preview the properties online at www.auctionsinternational.com. Free copies of the complete tax catalog are available at the Cattaraugus County Treasurer’s Office at 303 Court Street Little Valley.
