Cala Earns Promotion To Lieutenant Colonel

Major Philip M. Cala, a 1998 graduate of Jamestown High School, was recently selected for future promotion to the rank of lieutenant colonel in the United States Army.

Cala has been on active duty since 2002 after graduating from Syracuse University, where he was commissioned by Major General (Ret.) Barclay O. Wellman, also of Jamestown, after completion of the university’s Army ROTC program.

He is stationed at the Pentagon’s National Military Command Center. Cala and his wife, Jen, reside with their four children in Northern Virginia.

Cala is the son of Sharon and Raymond McKotch of Jamestown and Philip A. and Nancy Cala of Greenhurst. He is the grandson of Nelle Cala of Jamestown.
