Two Maple Grove Students Selected To Represent American Legion At The New York State Girls’ Conference In July

The American Legion Auxiliary from the Herman Kent Post 777 has selected two Maple Grove Junior-Senior High School students, Madigan Howard and Sarah Quadt, to attend the New York State Girls’ State Conference from July 1 – 7 at the State University at Brockport.

Madigan Howard is a junior at Maple Grove and the daughter of Dawn and Keary Howard. She has been a member of Junior High Honor Society as treasurer and is in Senior High Honor Society. She has been treasurer for her class for five years. Madigan also participates on the school’s varsity volleyball and softball teams and enjoys singing in Maple Grove’s select choir, the MG Voices. She also enjoys participating in the musicals at Maple Grove and will be performing in this year’s show, All Shook Up. After high school, Madigan plans to attend college to pursue a career in the mathematics/science field.

Sarah Quadt is a junior at Maple Grove and the daughter of Sherill and Michael Quadt. She is a member of the Senior High Honor Society and is the president of the Maple Grove Language Club. Sarah is also a member of the Jamestown Jets YMCA Swim Team and Chautauqua Lake Rowing Team. She enjoys skiing with the Maple Grove Ski Club and has been playing piano for nearly 10 years. After high school, Sarah plans to pursue a career in environmental sustainability and hopes to make a difference in the world.
