Sinclairville Senior Citizens Hold Valentine’s Luncheon

The Sinclairville Senior Citizens met recently for the Valentine luncheon and a meeting in the Sinclairville Firehall Dining room. President Diman Smith welcomed all to the luncheon, and Cassadaga American Legion Chaplain Diane K. Shaw gave the blessing prior to the meal.

The table decorations were provided and set up by Linda Parmenter and Betty Wielgasz. Thanks to two of them for the colorful Valentine decorations. The main meal today was provided by Charles Sylvester, who prepared a roast of beef, potatoes with sour cream, and stuffed tomatoes.

The other members brought dishes of food to add to the meal. The table was filled with many gifts for a raffle. Recipients included LouAnn Smith, John Sipos, Smith, Margie McIntyre, Robert Minekime, Paul Scranton, Mrs. Wielgasz and Louisa Smith.

Following the meal, the meeting opened with the Lord’s Prayer led by President Smith and the Pledge of Allegiance led by secretary Sipos. The minutes of the previous meeting were read by secretary Sipos and treasurer Sylvester gave the financial report. Mrs. Wielgasz who is the sunshine chairman, read the list of those who are celebrating birthdays and anniversaries.

Mrs. Wielgasz also sent out get well cards. Those who are ill were remembered. Smth presented a report on a trip to Albany on American Legion business with Ray Wood. Smith is now the County Commander of the Sons of the American Legion.

The next meeting of the group will be on Tuesday, March 13, at noon in the Sinclairville Firehall dining room. LouAnn and Diman Smith will provide the festive table decorations, and a corned beef and cabbage meal. Others are to bring a dish of food to add to the meal or a dessert. New members are always welcome.
