Falconer FBLA Find Success At District Competition
RANDOLPH — Falconer Future Business Leaders of America recently attended the spring district meeting held at Randolph Central School. The event was a preliminary competition in preparation for their upcoming State Leadership Conference.
Students joined fellow FBLA members from throughout Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties in a variety of competitive events. A few select district elimination events offer the opportunity to perform in an impromptu environment in front of a panel of judges. The first and second place winners in these events earn the right to represent District 13 at the state competition in April.
The following Falconer competitors earned recognition by following the state theme of “Building Your Bridge to Success” as a challenge: District Elimination Event Awards went to Tyler Smith, Job Interview, first place; Jacob Thierfeldt, Introduction to Public Speaking, first; Jacob Sears, Basic Decision Making, second; Emily Brentley, Impromptu Speaking, first, and Joselyn Speas, Client Service, first Place.
Written Exam Awards went to Olivia Booth Accounting I, first place, Business Communications, first, and Parliamentary Procedure, first; Chloe Jordan, Accounting, second, Business Communications, second, and Business Calculations, second; Spencer Bautista, Business Math, first; Intro to Business, first, and Parliamentary Procedures, third; Garrett Carlson, Business Math, second and Intro to Business, third; Emily Brentley, Economics, second and Personal Finance, first; Joselyn Speas, Intro to Business, second and Intro to FBLA, seond; Tyler Smith, Intro to FBLA, first; Jacob Thierfeldt, Intro to Business, second; Jacob Sears, Word Processing, first, and Melissa Smith, Economics, first and Business Law, first.
