Brenda Fitzgerald of UPMC WCA Heart Center was the guest speaker at the February meeting of the Women’s Club of Lakewood. Fitzgerald shared important information, tips and healthy recipes for leading a heart healthy life. Leah Gustafson, certified personal trainer, lead the group in an invigorating exercise program and a delicious variety of tapas were prepared and served by the committee which was chaired by Lynne Gruel.

In business news the January meeting program consisted of a Fun Fair to benefit the Lakewood Women’s Scholarship Fund. A white elephant auction was held and Marilyn Gruel, co-vice president, was pleased to share the event was extremely successful and raised approximately $650 for the scholarship fund.

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 27, at 7 p.m. at the Gloria Dei Church. Guest Speaker Andy Dickinson, vice-president of Community Engagement for Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care will be speaking about “Family Conversations Toward a Legacy of Love.”
