Gifts, Money Donated To Humane Society
Animals at the Chautauqua County Humane Society were treated to eight gift bags worth of presents as well as a donation of money that will also go directly to their benefit from Giada Schauman.
Giada turned 9 on Saturday, Jan. 20, and requested that her friends bring gifts for the animals at the Humane Society to her birthday party instead of for her. When asked why she made that decision, Giada said “I felt bad for all of the cats and dogs that didn’t have stuff.”
While at the Humane Society, Giada had a tour of the facility and met Emma, an 8-year-old coon hound and red bone mix. Giada is a student at Fenner Elementary School in Falconer.
“The whole community should be proud of Giada for the selflessness she showed in choosing to benefit the animals at CCHS over receiving gifts for herself,” said Kellie Roberts, Chautauqua County Humane Society executive director. “We hope she inspires other children to support the Chautauqua County Humane Society or any other organization they feel connected to.”
