Dog Licenses Can Now Be Renewed Online Through Town Website

Ellicott residents can renew their dog licenses online though the town’s website:

The system allows town residents to license their dog from any computer or mobile device with access to the internet. Mike Erlandson, town clerk, said the town has taken precautions to ensure that online transactions are safe and secure. The system accepts MasterCard, Visa, Discover or American Express as well debit cards and electronic checks. There is a $1.75 convenience fee added to each transaction.

Dog licenses may only be renewed within three months or less from the renewal date. For example, if a license is due Dec. 31, town residents can renew the dog’s license any time after Sept. 30.

Multi-year licenses are available at discounted pricing depending on the expiration date of the rabies vaccination. The option is not available online now. For more information about eligibility for a multi-year license, contact the Town Clerk’s Office at 665-5317, ext. 200.

The system is for renewals only. Those licensing their dogs for the first time have to go to the clerk’s office and present a valid rabies certificate as well as a spay or neuter certificate if applicable.

For general questions pertaining to dog licensing, email or call the Town Clerk’s office at 665-5317, ext. 200, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
