Theta Beta Sorority To Meet Thursday

The Theta Beta Sorority met recently at the home of Mary Rogers.

Mrs. Rogers presented a program about herbs. Herbs add flavors that allow people to reduce fat, animal protein and sodium. Ideas were discussed on how to start an herb garden, preserving herbs and cooking hints. Herbs were categorized as strong, medium and mild. A homemade Dijon mustard was sampled.

Valentine’s dinner is being planned for the weekend of Feb. 10. A travelling dinner is being considered sometime in March. Valentine cards and candy will be packaged for those at the Mayville Senior Apartments and North Haven Apartments. A visit is planned for May. The Easter Egg Hunt was discussed and alternate materials were discussed for the shredded paper currently being used. Nancy Palmer won the white elephant and Mary Rogers chose the travelling basket.

Sue Hayes and Sandy Zenns were co-hostesses. The next meeting is at Inta Damcott’s on Jan. 18.
