Westfield Seniors To Meet Thursday

Westfield Senior Citizens will meet at noon on Dec. 7. Members attending should take a dish to pass and their table service. Joyce Wainwright, Nancy Peters, Trudy Stafford and Lolita Ramos, the kitchen committee, will set up at 11:15 a.m.

Shirley Kolpien opened the Nov. 9 meeting with a reading of poems. Pat Sciarrino, president, read devotions and Ruth Carris, new member was introduced. Committee members were thanked for bringing lunch. Reports by the secretary and treasurer were approved as read. Dolores Kaufman, sunshine chairman, stated that Dave Carlson and Carol Reynolds celebrated birthdays. Flyers, made by Pauline Emilson announcing the Dec. 14 Christmas program at noon in the YWCA, were distributed to members to display in business and other places. A program of Christmas music will be the entertainment. A $5-10 gift exchange will be held. Members attending should also take hats, gloves, socks and mittens for children seniors. The Nominating Committee announced that all officers would remain the same. All officers will set up programs for 2018 at a meeting which will be held in January. Pauline Emilson provided information on “Christmas in the Village” in Westfield. Ron Van Ord will meet with members of other local clubs to set up trips for 2018. Pauline Emilson and Geri Harper were prize winners. The meeting closed with the Serenity Prayer. Games of Bingo followed.
