John Wojciechowicz, executive director of the Allegheny Highlands Council, Boy Scouts of America, presents a patch collection to Mitch Stickle, park manager of the Kinzua Bridge State Park. A tornado destroyed the main section of the Kinzua Viaduct in 2003. In 2005, the local boy scout council sent a contingent of 40 scouts and their leaders to the National Jamboree which at the time was held at Fort AP Hill in Virginia. Every troop represented from around the country designed patches which were worn on their uniforms, usually depicting something with local flavor. The boys from the Allegheny Highlands troop decided to design patches showing a tornado and the Kinzua bridge on their patch that year. Wojciechowicz presented Stickle with a framed set commemorating the event to be displayed in the new Visitors Center in Kane, Pa., which was dedicated last year.
