Toczydlowski Speaks To Lakewood Women’s Club

Jason Toczydlowski, president and owner of CHQ Local Food Inc was the guest speaker for the Women’s Club of Lakewood October meeting.

Toczydlowski spoke to the group about techniques to save fresh food for winter. Canning, freezing, herb drying and dehydrating food were many of the options discussed. He also spoke of the number of local area farms which offer a variety of foods which may be purchased directly from the farm, at local farmers markets, featured at local restaurants, or ordered through CHQ Local Food Inc.

Preceding the speaker, the club held a short meeting. Co-Vice Presidents Nancy Padak and Marilyn Gruel arranged the program for the evening. The host committee included, Debbie Morlock and Donna Nagle co-chairs, along with Sue Drago, Sandy Hallet, Kay Fugagli and Pat Willis.

The next club meeting will be a luncheon meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at noon at the Marvin House in Jamestown. The speaker will be Margot Russell.
