Take A Happy Hour Hike Into Autumn At Audubon

The Audubon Community Nature Center will host a Happy Hour Hike on Sept. 22.

The public is invited to welcome autumn with a hike on the grounds at the Audubon Community Nature Center from 3 to 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22.

The hike will be led by Sarah Hatfield, Audubon senior naturalist. There is a flurry of activity in the natural world as everything gets ready for the lean season. Animals are packing away food, as are some plants, while others are sending their offspring out into the world as their final gesture. After the hike, there will be an opportunity to have a follow-up beverage at a local restaurant. Those attending should wear shoes suited to the trails. The walk will happen rain or shine, so come dressed for the weather.

The fee is $8 per person, $6 for Nature Center members.

Reservations are appreciated by Thursday, Sept. 21, by calling 569-2345 during business hours or visit the Programs page at auduboncnc.org. Walk-ins are welcome.

Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren.
