Grants Help Improve Ashville Library
ASHVILLE — Grants from the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation’s Blossom Fund and Fund for the Region have helped the Ashville Free Library create a comfortable, family friendly, interactive space that encourages learning through play for young children and their caretakers.
The foundation’s grants provided financial support to renovate the current children’s area and purchased new storage units and materials for children to play, learn and create.
“It is the library’s hope to see our youngest community members get the earliest start on the road to lifelong learning,” said Tabetha Butler, Ashville Free Library director.
The library also offers a meeting space, hosts a monthly Lego club and regular preschool story times with Mormor, the Swedish word for grandmother. It is also home to Libby the Library Kitty.
To learn more, visit the library at 2200 N. Maple Ave., Ashville. Hours are Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. More information can also be found on its website, ashvillefreelibrary.com.
