Learning Center Reaches Milestone

The Dresser-Rand Challenger Learning Center celebrated its 20,000th participant when the Jamestown Public Schools District visited the center. The celebration included a presentation of a commemorative plaque to Jamestown Schools and rocket ship cookies made by Main Street Sweets in Allegany. A plaque will on be displayed in the Center. The Challenger Learning Center opened its doors in June 2009. They celebrated their 10,000th participant in March 2014. In a little over three years, the center has increased its presence in the area and doubled participation by local schools. Located near St. Bonaventure University in Allegany, the Dresser-Rand Challenger Learning Center is a space-themed facility with educational programs designed to stimulate interest in science, technology, engineering and math–also known as STEM education–through hands-on experiences and simulations tied to classroom learning and team-building.
