Chautuaqua Lake Partnership To Host Rally May 27

BEMUS POINT — The Chautauqua Lake Partnership is hosting a rally at the Bemus Point Casino on Saturday May 27, from 9 to 11 a.m. to inform anyone interested in the health and maintenance of Chautauqua Lake.

The partnership will introduce its Weed Management Demonstration Project using DEC-approved herbicides in Bemus Bay to control Eurasian Milfoil weeds that impede recreation activities in the bay and a shoreline cleanup demonstration project to remove the rotting mass of weed fragments that cause noxious odors and impede enjoyment of the lake.

Partnership officials said they hope to initiate and implement new methods of lake management for Bemus Bay this summer and other lake communities in the future.

Anyone interested is welcome to attend.
