Pianist To Perform Locally Saturday

At 1 p.m. Saturday, pianist Duncan Holmes from Fredericksburg, Texas, will perform at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 381 Camp St., Jamestown.

Holmes has been blind since birth. He graduated from Shenandoah Conservatory of Music In Winchester, Va., and received his Masters of Music Education from the University of North Texas. He has toured the country serving in churches, schools, colleges, prisons and other ministries. He plays traditional Christian music and several other genres of music in a performance that includes humor and testimony.

“Before Jesus found me, I was at best a bitter, self-centered weakling,” Holmes said. “When I stopped resisting and let Him into my heart, He slowly began changing me in sometimes quiet, sometimes drastic, sometimes painful ways. He’s doing that still.”

The public is invited to attend. There is no charge but an offering will be taken. As well as the concert, Holmes will be in the 10 and 11 a.m. services on Sunday at the church.
