The Chautauqua Region Community Foundation recently awarded a grant from The Blossom Fund to support 14 student internship positions with the Jamestown Jackals basketball team.

Organized through #IntegrityFirst, Inc., these internships help students reach their full potentials while shifting from academics to employment experiences. Student goals and needs, matched with structured programming and high expectations, assist young adults pursuing a brighter future.

“Internships are a way for students to do what they’re learning, not just memorize things for tests,” said Annie Chartrand, coordinator of applied education at Jamestown Community College. “The correlation between students that apply their learning and graduation is extremely strong.” It’s harder than ever to find employment without prior experience and internships are an essential way to find that experience.”
