Chautauqua Lake Accepting Registrations For Winter Swimming Pool Programs

Registrations are now being accepted for four swimming pool programs that will begin in February at Chautauqua Lake Central School. For all programs, pre-paid registrations must be received in the District Office by 4 p.m. on Friday. No payments are accepted at the pool.

Swimming Lessons are for children in kindergarten or older and meet on Saturday mornings starting Feb. 4.

Swim and Dive Club, for swimmers in third grade or older who meet the minimum skill requirements noted on the registration form, meets after school on Wednesdays and Thursdays starting Feb. 1.

The Adult Lap Swim Program for ages 18 and up will be held on Tuesdays, 6:30-7:30 p.m., starting February 7. Up to four lanes will be set up for lap swimmers, at the discretion of the lifeguard. Aquatic Exercise instruction is not currently offered.

The Family Swim Program will be held on Mondays, 6:30-7:30 p.m., starting Feb. 6. One lane may be set up for lap swimmers at the discretion of the head lifeguard, as space allows. Registration is open to individuals or to families (up to four swimmers each evening). They need not be the same four swimmers each time.

For the Family Swim Program, swimmers ages 7-12 must be accompanied by an adult, who must stay to supervise but need not swim. Children age six and under must be accompanied by an adult in the water. Any non-swimmer who is unable to stand with head and shoulders above the water must be accompanied in the water by a responsible adult (one swimmer to one adult ratio).

Registration forms for all programs are available in each school office, in the District Office at the main (center) entrance to the school building, and at www.clake.org. Locate the Swimming Pool link on the left side of the home page.

If sufficient registrations for each program are not received in the District Office by the announced deadline, the program will be canceled and payments returned. If each program runs, additional registrations may be accepted after the deadline as space allows; see each registration form for details.

If there is sufficient demand, Family Swim and Adult Lap Swim programs will be offered in the spring, with registrations due by 4 p.m. on Friday, April 7. Swimming Lessons and Swim and Dive Club are expected to be repeated in the summer, with registrations due in June.

For recorded updates on the pool programs, call the Swimming Pool Hotline, 753-5919.
