CCAC Seeking Nominations For Arts And Cultural Awards

Celebration of the Arts Party at the Bartlett Country Club, 2016.

Nominations are now open for the Cattaraugus County Arts Council’s 3rd Annual Celebration of the Arts – Arts & Cultural Awards. A vibrant arts and culture scene is important to strong communities and part of CCAC’s mission to support the many individuals, arts organizations, and supporters of the arts we’ve created these awards. Nominations can be made to honor artists, arts organizations or arts supporters from Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua counties.  Anyone can submit a nomination, including those for their own organization or for themselves by visiting www.myartscouncil.net/arts–cultural-awards-nominations.html. Nominations will be accepted through March 6 and winners will be selected by a committee of CCAC board members, staff and community members. Arts & Cultural Awards categories include:

Lifetime Achievement: This award celebrates the career of an individual artist, organization, individual at an organization, or individual artist who has demonstrated particular commitment to their work throughout a long career making important contributions regionally, nationally or internationally in their field, especially at a milestone marker, such as retirement, job change, posthumous recognition, etc.

Distinguished Artist of the Year: This award honors an individual artist in any discipline for their creative excellence and superior accomplishments in 2016.

Emerging Talent: This award honors a relatively new artist, performer, organization, someone new in his or her position or organization, or a group taking arts and culture to the next phase in their development.

Supporter of the Arts & Culture Sector: This award honors an individual or organization outside the arts and culture sector for their work in directly aiding or advocating for the arts and cultural sector in a variety of ways.

Volunteer of the Year: Many of the region’s arts and cultural organizations rely on volunteers to put on the show! This award recognizes the outstanding volunteer efforts of an unpaid individual or group that has had a major impact on the arts and culture sector.

We will also honor a Regrant Program of the Year recognizing the achievement, dedication and creativity of one the many NYSCA Decentralization program recipients (individual or group) from Allegany, Cattaraugus or Chautauqua counties for 2016.

Join CCAC on Saturday, April 1 at the Bartlett Country Club for this exciting night. Tickets are on sale now at myartscouncil.net/celebration-of-the-arts-party.html. Sponsorship opportunities available at myartscouncil.net/celebration-sponsorships.html.
