Jamestown High School recently held a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) clinic. LeAnn Love of the JHS College/Career Counseling Center and Lorraine Walker from the Chautauqua Striders Mentoring program arranged the clinic.

Graduating JHS seniors were invited to attend. Interested students were given information required to complete the forms and how to navigate the Federal Student Aid ID process prior to the workshop.

“Seniors that plan to attend college in the fall of 2017 need to submit the FAFSA form as soon as possible,” said Love. “Most colleges use the FAFSA to prepare not only federal and state aid, but school-based scholarships as well. Even academic scholarships, such as Jamestown Community College’s USA free tuition scholarship, require that a FAFSA report be on file before a student can receive the scholarship.”

Students attending submitted their completed FAFSA forms and will now receive financial aid packages from the colleges they have applied to. Please contact Love at 483-7122 for any questions on FAFSA form completion.
