Lake View Names New Manager
The Lake View Cemetery Association board has promoted Hugh B. Golden to the position of general manager.
The new position will combine the previous superintendent’s and business manager’s positions and duties.
Golden has been employed by the cemetery since 2012, acting as the business manager for the past four years. Previous to coming to the Lake View Cemetery, he had worked for 30 years in the grounds maintenance and landscape fields. Earning an ornamental horticulture and landscape development degree from Alfred State College, he worked as the grounds supervisor at both Loranger Manufacturing in Warren and Lutheran Social Services, Jamestown, for 19 years. His horticultural background and experience have served him well in his time at Lake View Cemetery. Golden has been involved in the planning and development of Veteran’s Grove, tree removal and replacement projects, the development and implementation of safety regulations and procedures, as well as updating cemetery policies.
Golden lives in Jamestown with his wife, Elaine. They have three grown children, three grandchildren with a fourth due in July, a dog and several cats.
Sam Genco, the previous superintendent, served 35 years at the cemetery, including the past six as superintendent.
Golden began his new position on June 1.
