Jamestown Community Chamber Salutes ‘The Finest’

The Jamestown Community Chamber of Commerce recognized a number of local businesses and organizations for contributions to the community on Monday night as the annual Salute to the Finest program was held at Shawbucks.

Awards were presented for: New Business of the Year, Crown Street Roasting Company; Young Business Leader of the Year, Justin Hanft; Restaurant of the Year, Forte; Manufacturer of the Year, Anderson Precision; Business of the Year, Honest John’s Pizzeria; Service to Humanity, James Prendergast Library; Pride of Jamestown, Babe Ruth World Series Committee; and Community Service, John Williams.

Board President Vicki McGraw noted, “These businesses and individuals being honored tonight are all doing good things to participate in our community and to make a positive difference. I encourage everyone to do the same, through volunteering or serving in some way. Together, we all make a difference.”

Three members of the Jamestown Young Professionals made brief presentations. Bryce Ireland of J. Edwards Insurance, Simone Sellstrom of Jamestown Community College, and Eddie Sundquist of Lewis & Lewis talked about their commitment to the community and about their decisions to live and work in the Jamestown area.

Board members and officers for 2018 were elected to the Jamestown Community Chamber of Commerce board as follows: president Vicki McGraw, Elegant Edibles Catering; vice president Bill Stevenson, representing the Lucy Desi Museum; secretary Victoria Bardo of Filling the Gap; treasurer, John Bauer of the Babe Ruth World Series Committee; and board members Kurt Johnson of Shawbucks; Mark Lindstrom, Lake Shore Paving; Mike McVinney, Lynn Development Group; Gary Peters Jr., Fresh Press Studios; Kristofer Sellstrom, Jamestown Board of Public Utilities.
