Home Depot To Hire 375 Employees Regionally
The Home Depot has announced its intentions to hire additional 375 associates in the Buffalo region this spring and 80,000 nationwide.
As spring approaches and Western New Yorkers start to think about sprucing up their homes and gardens, Home Depot realizes they need the additional employees for one of their busiest season.
According to a news release about the job expansion at Home Depot, people interested can applying at the world’s largest home improvement retailer online at careers.homedepot.com or can text homedepot to 52270 to receive a link to apply. According to Home Depot officials, it takes about 15 minutes to fill out a job application. Positions from sales and cashiers to operations and online order fulfillment are available. Opportunities include both permanent part-time and seasonal positions in the company’s stores and distribution facilities. College students, retirees and veterans are encouraged to apply.
According to an interactive hiring heat map — homedepotretailjobs.com /interactive-map — that includes major market and single store hiring numbers, five jobs are currently available at the Jamestown Home Depot, located at 935 Fairmount Ave.
Earlier this week, it was reported that the Home Depot’s fourth-quarter earnings and sales topped Wall Street’s expectations, as more shoppers flocked to its stores and spent more per trip. The company reported revenue at $23.9 billion during the last quarter of the year, which was higher than the expected $23.7 billion. Same store sales increased to 7.5 percent, which was higher than the 6 percent that was predicted.
The Home Depot is the world’s largest home improvement specialty retailer, with 2,284 retail stores in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, 10 Canadian provinces and Mexico. In fiscal 2017, The Home Depot had sales of $100.9 billion and earnings of $8.6 billion. The company employs more than 400,000 associates.
