UMC To Hold Thanksgiving Meal

GERRY — The Rodeo City Senior Citizens will meet on Friday at noon in the United Methodist Church for the annual Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey, stuffing and gravy will be provided. All those attending are asked to bring a dish of food to add to the meal, and their own table service. A program will follow the meal.

Citizens Meet

Ellery Senior Citizens met recently at St. Timothy Lutheran Church. Those serving on the kitchen committees were BettyLou Cheney and Cherrie Clark. Maureen Langebartel led the flag salute to open the business meeting led by Marty Hunt, President. Jan Stowell led devotions, speaking on Columbus Day and Rita Garretson celebrated a birthday. Thank you letters were received from the Chautauqua County Dive Team for donations given in memory of Bernice Swanson and John Cheney. The next meeting will be Friday at noon. Maureen Langebartel and Mary Carpenter will serve on the kitchen committee. Members are to bring a dish to pass for the Thanksgiving/Harvest dinner.

Salvation Army Sets Craft Sale

The Salvation Army, 83 South Main St., Jamestown, is holding its annual Crafts and Gifts Galore sales day on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. A wide variety of gifts made from glass, wood, cloth as well as jewelry and baked goods will be for sale. Over 35 vendors will be on hand. There is no fee at the door instead the first 100 people attending will receive a gift for coming. Also, the great Runfola magician, will be there all day performing close-up magic and balloons for children. Chili and other food available for a small fee. This event is held to raise money for World Services. The Salvation Army supports the missionaries in many countries helping bring the Word of God and His love giving them hope while helping with their needs.

Marco Polo Club To Hold Dinner

The Marco Polo Club will host a spaghetti dinner Saturday from 4-7 p.m. The cost is $9 for adults and $5 for children. The club is located at 1027 E. Second St., Jamestown.

Sherman Church To Serve Meal

SHERMAN — The Sherman Community Church will host its annual Swiss steak dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $9 for adults and $5 for children ages 10 and under. Pies are available for dessert.

Vets Day Bash To Be Held Saturday

The Support the Troops Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association No. 865 will hold its ninth annual Veteran’s Day Bash on Saturday beginning at noon. The event will take place at the VVA clubroom, 41 Bigelow Ave., Jamestown. Cost is $5 per person and kids 10 and under free.

Library To Hold Computer Classes

The library will offer two computer classes this month — Introduction to Excel and Internet Basics. All computer classes at Prendergast are free of charge. Walk-ins are welcome as space allows, or call to register at 484-7135 ext. 225. Internet Basics will run on Friday, Nov. 30, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. This class will be taught by Joanna Sorenson, a library associate and instructor at JCC. This class will cover how to navigate the Internet and search reputable websites. Students will also learn about web-based email, online marketplaces and social media. Introduction to Excel will be held on Friday, Nov. 16, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Prendergast Library is located at 509 Cherry St.; computer classes are held in the public computer center.
