Hold Rally Today
Tracy Mitrano, Democratic candidate for the 23rd Congressional district, will hold a rally in Jamestown today at the IBEW Local 106 headquarters, 322 James Ave., from 6-8 p.m. The rally will feature Judy Einach, candidate for New York State Assembly, Sheriff Joe Gerace who has received the IBEW’s endorsement; and Dave Wilkinson, president of the Jamestown Area Labor Council.
Westfield Water Flushing Starts
WESTFIELD — Water main flushing will begin in the village of Westfield on Monday at 7 a.m. and continue until 3:30 p.m. weekdays through Nov. 30 or until flushing is finished. Flushing of Westfield’s water mains will begin on the west side of the village and progress to the east side, going from the highest point south and moving north, ending with the West Route 5 Water District. Flushing will cause roily water. Residents should stock a supply of water for drinking and cooking before flushing begins. Care should be taken not to draw roily water into hot water tanks, heating systems and clothes washers.
Hospital To Hold Chicken Dinner
WESTFIELD — The Westfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will host a chicken and biscuit dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m., or until sold out, on Monday, Nov. 5, at the First Presbyterian Church in Westfield. The church is handicapped-accessible. The menu includes chicken and biscuits, mashed potatoes, peas and carrots, cranberry salad, assorted homemade desserts and beverages. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. All proceeds will benefit ongoing projects at Westfield Memorial Hospital. Valley Historical Society To Meet
CASSADAGA — The Valley Historical Society will hold its November meeting at the Cassadaga American Legion hall on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The guest speaker will be Todd Langworthy, Pomfret town historian. Anyone interested in local history is invited to attend. Refreshments will be served after the meeting.
Frewsburg VVA To Meet Tuesday
FREWSBURG — The Frewsburg Vietnam Veterans of America, David L. Woodburn Chapter 978, will meet Tuesday at Frewsburg Central School at 7 p.m. Barrie Yochim of Meals on Wheels in the Jamestown area will speak about the benefits of the program in the area. Tickets are still available for the snow blower fundraiser giveaway which will take place at the Frewsburg Legion on Veterans’ Day, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. Plans for the Christmas party will also be discussed. Kiantone Auxiliary To Hold Dinner
KIANTONE — The Kiantone Fire Department Auxiliary will be serving its annual election day Swiss steak dinner Tuesday from 4:30-7 p.m. Cost of dinner is $10 for adults and $6 for children under 12. Meal includes Swiss steak, mashed potatoes, vegetable, salad, roll, pie and beverage.
