Walk & Wag Set For Saturday

BROCTON — The Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue’s inaugural Walk & Wag fundraiser will will take place Saturday at Lake Erie State Park, 5838 Route 5, Brocton. Canine companions are welcome, but not required. The fundraiser is a two-mile walk on paved lanes around the park. The event will be held rain or shine. Registration begins at 10 a.m with the walk beginning at 11 a.m. Registration is at the picnic pavilion near the Parking Lot on the beach side of the park. The cost is $20 per walker. The first 100 walkers will receive a gift bag.

Apple Butter

Festival Slated

WESTFIELD — The West Portland Baptist Church, 7081 E. Route 20, Westfield, will host its fifth annual Apple Butter Festival on Saturday Oct. 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be more than 40 vendors offering various sale items including food. The festival will take place rain or shine. All profits generated from the festival will be donated to the Nina’s Kitchen Brocton/Portland Food Pantry, which is operated on the church grounds. Admission is free.

Breast Cancer Meal To Be Held

The Women’s Department of Emmanual Temple Church, 1015 N. Main St., Jamestown, will sponsor a breast cancer awareness breakfast at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20. Speaking from Roswell Park Cancer Institute and a special speaker, Pastor Valerie Foye of Buffalo

Eastern Star To Hold Bingo Night

FORESTVILLE — The Forestville Order of the Eastern Star will have a Towel Bingo Night on Friday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $5 and $1 each board. On Nov. 4 at 3 p.m. will be district rehearsal at Forestville OES; Nov. 10 will be the Chautauqua District Homecoming and Reception on Main Street, Forestville; and on Nov. 20 will include the installation of officers at Forestville OES at 7:30 pm.

Historical Society To Meet Sunday

FLUVANNA — The next meeting of the Fluvanna Community Historical Society will be held on Sunday from 4-6 p.m. The society is sponsoring the Fluvanna Cemetery Association Cemetery Walk. Those who attend can visit the graves of early settlers and Revolutionary soldiers. Cider and donuts will be provided at the Fluvanna Community Historical Society building.

Celoron Village Board To Meet

CELORON — The Celoron Village Board will meet at 6 p.m. Monday in the Celoron Community Center, 47 Dunham Ave., Celoron, to conduct village business. The public is welcome to attend.

IDA Meeting To Be Held Tuesday

The Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency and Chautauqua Region Economic Development Corporation boards of directors will meet Tuesday at the BWB Building, 201 W. Third St., Jamestown. The IDA will meet at 10 a.m. with the development corporation to meet immediately afterward. The meeting is open to the public.
