St. Luke’s Thrift Shop Hosts Sale

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St. between East Fourth and East Fifth streets, Jamestown, is making room for its fall merchandise and is offering all clothing storewide at half-price, including already reduced items. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.

Lakewood Legion To Host Breakfast

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Legion Post 1286 will be hosting a buffet breakfast on Sunday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. The cost is $7 for buffet or $8 with buffet including made to order three egg omelet. The public is invited.

North Harmony UMC Sets Dinner

The North Harmony United Methodist Church on Sherman-Stedman Road will be holding a Swiss steak dinner on Saturday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The cost of the meal is $8.50 for adults and $4 for children. Take-outs will be available. There will also be a bake sale table. The proceeds will be used for community outreach projects.

Blood Drive To Be Held Sunday

The New York State Police is hosting an American Red Cross blood drive Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its Bloodmobile at state police barracks, 3081 N. Main St. Ext. in Jamestown. To event is open to the public. The office will also be open for fingerprinting and other services.

AOC To Gather For Hike Sunday

On Sunday, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike the Wintergreen Gorge in Erie. Participants will meet at the Park and Ride on Route 60 north of Jamestown at Interstate 86 at 1:30 p.m. to carpool to the gorge. The group will eat dinner afterward at a restaurant in Erie. To Be Dedicated

Tree of Life Lutheran Church on 825 Forest Ave., Jamestown, will bless its new “Pray-Ground” during the 10:15 a.m. worship service Sunday. Pray-Grounds are worship spaces dedicated to engaging young children and parents of young families in the atmosphere of worship. A “Pray-Ground” space is established in the front area of the sanctuary that often includes a rug, some soft toys, coloring books, crayons and small table and chairs. Little ones are invited to take part in quiet play at the Pray-Ground as their parents sit directly behind them and/or an assistant offers support. The space had its soft opening at worship on Labor Day weekend. The “Pray-Ground” is geared for children between the ages of 1 and 5.
